INTRODUCTION
The
naming of a clan is a very sacred process. It is not dictated by the
creativity alone of the facilitator, but is rather more of a download of information that best represents the existing energy
of the group as a whole. Through intuition, meditation, inspiration,
imagination, observation and deep listening the clan is named, not by a
human, but through a human by the unseen energy source that connects us
all one to another.
We are but reflections of one another, until we are
reflecting only what is inside of our heart of hearts from our purest
essence. And we will then each be one to another the most persistent of
reminders of the greatness that lies within each of us. For it is then that we are
projecting the most essential part of our highest and finest selves
from the very core of our being. And so it is wise to pay attention to
everything and everyone that comes into your space. Let no blessing go unnoticed and no message go
unheard. Be not fooled by the wrapping paper on the gift or the cover on
the book.
And so with this, we have the
naming of this Addiction Alchemy tribe on July 29th, 2007:
The Lotus
Clan
ENERGIES
CONSCIOUSNESS &
UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
LOTUS
POWER
The lotus is the flower for July in China. And the water lily, the
flower of July in England, blooms in water. What a fine bit of
synchronicity that this clan just happens to be forming this very month!
The power of the lotus is
multi-dimensional. At it's most basic, lotus is an archetype for rising
and blossoming through adversity. At it's most complex it symbolizes
enlightenment and an unbound connection to the divine.
The lotus is an essential part of
yoga and chakra work and as such is symbolic of an opening in the
connection to source energy and raised consciousness. This is most
readily accomplished through the practices of meditation and ritual,
yogic or not.
LOTUS’S MESSAGE
CONNECT TO YOUR INNER WISDOM TO EXPAND YOUR MIND AND OPEN YOUR HEART!
Lotus empowers you to tap into the strengths that you have built through
endurance of adversity. The lotus knows that these were only a part of
your school of life and earth university and says that you have been
learning your lessons well. But it may be time to graduate and blossom,
lifting your beautiful head up out of your murky emotions and into the
light of day. Enjoy the power of the sun and bring this energy more into
your life by spending time outside.
LOTUS
SAYS…
The lessons you have been learning have given you much information about
yourself and others. For it is in experiencing that you truly come to
understand a thing, inside and out.
It is very difficult for others to
fool you now, as you have been there and done that and are very far
along on your path to working your way to the other side of your issues.
In fact, you may have done so and are now ready to begin the process of
being a teacher, mentor, guide or sponsor to those who are just
beginning their healing journey. For there is no better way to learn
than to teach!
It is important to let go of the
need to control as you go out into the world in this capacity. Letting
go opens your inner lotus to experience miracles that you otherwise
might have thwarted out of fear and mistrust of the forces of good that
are at work in your life, both seen and unseen.
If you really want to become
empowered, not through force, but through power it is important to
employ some sort of meditative practice. Meditation and ritual fund your
ability to maintain from your center and are a proactive means for
keeping yourself balanced and joyful. It is rather like putting money in
your spiritual bank when you perform these practices. So if you haven't
made many deposits into the bank, when you go to make a withdrawal there
will be little to give. And what you do give may overdraw your account
and create an uneven energy exchange and overtax your body and mind.
You may already know how to
meditate, you may already know how to journey or astral travel. However,
lotus is advising you to do so with more discipline and reverence for
the process. It may be time to increase your practices and
rituals...learn other ways, add newness and fresh perspectives to your
routine. Seek new teachers and diversify your spiritual, as well as your
intellectual education. Meditation and ritual can also include ceremony,
walking and creative work, as well as many other things.
Allow lotus to guide you to the
perfect inner wisdom which resides in each of us. Sit and be still and
allow the still small voice to ever expand until you can hear it loud
and clear. One major clue that lotus leaves for us is the power of
meditating as we immerse our body in water. It is then that these subtle
messages will be felt, sensed and heard and will be able to inform our
lives in clarity. Soon you will see yourself making different choices
and others responding to you positively, opening the door of
unconditional love with the key of compassion and operating more often
than not from the space of love and less from a place of suffering.
When the white lotus descends to this world, it changes everyone's life
for the better.

LOTUS LORE
The lotus has been revered since
ancient Egyptians & other indigenous peoples recognized it's diurnal
patterns, rising from the muck at dawn and submerging itself at dusk,
symbolically worshiping the sun. Because it flowers and fruits
simultaneously, it represents creation, fertility and rebirth...past,
present and future.
The golden lotus is most often
associated with Hindu accounts of creation, and with Buddha's birth and
spiritual enlightenment. It represents one of the 'Eight Treasures' or
symbols of Buddhism (faithfulness) and one of the 'Eight Immortals' of
Daoism (He Xiangu).
Lotus lore is diverse and
fascinating, with different colors having special meanings. Medicinally,
the lotus is said to hasten recovery from illnesses and to cleanse the
body of toxins.
In Asia, there is only one species
of lotus with red and white blooms. Yet early Buddhist scriptures,
referring to the seven precious lotuses, mention blue and yellow
flowers. The water lily, native to Egypt, has blue flowers but the
yellow-flowered water lily is native to North America. This mystery may
be addressed in this Buddhist sutra:
"The lotuses of heaven can change according to people's wishes,
flowering when needed. In this way they bring joy to the hearts of all.
There is no need to declare one false and the other real. Both are
called the wondrous lotus flower."
The water lily belongs to the Nympha genus, derived from the same word
as Nymph. The Greek word nymph, besides being used to describe the
feminine spirits of water and trees, also means something young and
budding.
In Yoga and chakra work the
thousand petal lotus sits at the crown chakra and signifies a complete
spiritual opening. The lotus has always been an inspiring symbol for
connecting to higher consciousness. And as this consciousness reveals to
us the true nature of the abundance of this world, we begin to draw all
things needful, both spiritual and material into our lives. This creates
in us an overflowing well of gratitude and love, which spills out into
our entire experience of life. For at last we are allowed to express
ourselves from our true essence.
